PRIMARY FUNCTION: Home vegetable growing
INSPIRATION: We all needs vegetables for our daily life. With healthy diet gradually coming into people's vision, eating habits has changed from quantity to quality. Organic vegetables too expensive to middle class family. To make sure everyone can eat fresh and healthy, we find out that nothing is newer and fresher than your own vegetables. That's the beginning of Micro Garden, which has different types of vegetable planting modules to suitable for different vegetable eating habits of every families.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Micro Garden takes soilless cultivation technology as the core. According to planting types, it is divided into different kinds of planting modules. The profile shape of the bottom interface is the same, users can choose it by their needs. Intelligent planting technology makes users can view the growth status directly by APP. Micro Garden can be directly installed on the kitchen wall, and the vegetables can be picked as you eat. It can also be used as the greening decoration of the family wall.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Step1. Fix the wireless charging rack on the kitchen wall.
Step2. Attach the magnetic attraction fixing frame to the wireless charging frame.
Step3. Insert the corresponding vegetable planting module into the groove of the wireless charging rack.
Step4. Put the corresponding nutrient matrix block or nutrient solution according to the vegetable variety you want to grow
Step5. Log in to the mobile app and connect to the corresponding vegetable planting module.
Step6. Start home planting according to the app prompt.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in December 2021 in Anhui Provence and finished in March.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Our design is shaped by injection molding technique. The planting module is fixed by plug-in, and the humidity display and data transmission depend on wireless charging technology. The main material is using Plastic, magnets and acrylic.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: As a necessity of human daily consumption, vegetables are rich in a variety of nutrients necessary to maintain human body, maintain human dietary health, and are an important part of people's daily diet. In recent years, rapid economic growth has led to the continuous improvement of residents' living standards, and residents' consumption ideas are gradually changing. With healthy diet gradually coming into people's vision, residents' table demand has changed from quantity to quality. The consumer demand for vegetables in the consumer market is increasing day by day, followed by the residents' pursuit of the freshness of vegetables and their thinking on food safety. After observation, it is found that in order to eat fresh and pollution-free vegetables, many consumers began to choose to carry out simple family vegetable cultivation and vegetable planting independently. Therefore, taking this as the research starting point, they carried out relevant research on family vegetable planting products.
CHALLENGE: Traditional soil planting requires large family space, and has high requirements for vegetable planting experience. In order to ensure that the success rate of family vegetable planting is higher and does not occupy too much family space, soilless cultivation technology is a very good choice. Soilless cultivation does not rely on soil to supply nutrients. Vegetables are planted in matched plant nutrient solution or in massive inorganic cultivation matrix. As long as there is matched nutrient solution and applicable equipment, the normal growth of plants can be ensured. Compared with traditional soil, nutrient solution and massive cultivation matrix are easy to transport and control the nutrients required by plants, which greatly reduces the threshold requirements of family planting. Therefore, soilless vegetable planting products that meet the needs of family vegetable consumption, family environment adaptation and do not occupy family space will have great market prospects, and take this as the design positioning to carry out the optimal design of urban family vegetable planting products.
