RESEARCH ABSTRACT: DH Cultural Villa is named after the Owner, Mr. Da Hong. It has over 10 semi-detached vintage villas, built over 100 years ago, restored in the style of the 19th Century English architecture in Central Melaka, Malaysia. While several modern touches like a 40 length private swimming pool, the villas still retain the 19th century interior design and architecture looks and offer the guest into Malacca 19th Century Cultural Heritage living.
CHALLENGE: The initial request by the client is to incorporate Sang Kancil, the mascot of Malacca into the DH logo design. After research and brainstorming, the designer decided to use the iconical landmarks of Malacca to associate with Villas. As Red Square is a church, the designer has to find ways to integrate Red Square into the design while avoiding religious symbols. Beyond that, the designer also wanted to incorporate the letters D and H, and retain 19th century English Architecture in the design.
