PRIMARY FUNCTION: Game Handle in Quarantine
INSPIRATION: Quarantine measures are an effective way to curb the spread of coronavirus, but it may be a negative experience for quarantined individuals. According to related statistics analysis, the negative emotions that people have during the COVID-19's quarantine may be related to lack of exercise and communication with others for a long time. Therefore, why not provide opportunities to quarantined people to communicate with each other via internet and healthy entertainment under safe conditions?
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: It is a sports game handle to alleviate the negative emotions of users in the quarantine of coronavirus pandemic. It achieves indoor sports and inter-connection with others in the quarantined area by somatosensory and wireless fidelity technology. It is not only an IoT handle to meet the requirements of users in quarantined area for sports and social communication, but also a lamp as a companion. Supported by this product, the cold quarantined area can be turned into a happy sports room.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: 1. Connected the game handle through WIFI with smart display (mobile phone, computer, etc.), click to connecting with others in the interactive interface so as to find a person to start the game. 2. Within the time range of being willing to accept the invitation, the light on the handle will be start flashing and calling of the invitation voice from the invitee. At that time, you can begin to play game by picking up the game handle. 3. Game handle will continuously emit gentle light as the atmosphere light in the room to alleviate users' loneliness at night.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started on March 2021 in Shanghai and finished on January 2022 in Shanghai.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: This design adopts a positive experience design approach to improving users' psychological and physical well-being. Technically, the embedded program language realizes the somatosensory interaction between the handle and the program; Wireless network connection technology realizes the function of interconnection between persons in the quarantine; ABS metal spray paint is used on the handle to achieve the high-end quality for people to use easily.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 1.Game handle body:168mm x 50mm x 310mm; Game handle base: 176mm x 68mm x 128mm; 2. Use somatosensory technology to realize the connection between product and program; 3.APP interface will display multi-platform interactive transmission through projection technology.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Quarantine is an effective way to curb the spread of coronavirus, but it is a negative experience for people in quarantine. Based on the research of psychology and design, a design framework from negative to positive is proposed to stimulate users' pleasant experience. Supported by the method, the user research is carried out. Sort out the interaction mode of products through the drawing of mind map. An internet of things product is designed to change the depressed quarantine area into a comfortable space.
CHALLENGE: 1. To what extent does the product regulate users' negative emotions? 2. Can the product promote harmonious community relations during the epidemic? 3. Can Internet of things technology ensure the stability of product experience?
