PRIMARY FUNCTION: Smart Irrigation Agriculture Platform
INSPIRATION: Thanks to strong government initiatives for rural revitalization and smart agriculture, the intelligent agricultural production platform based on IoT, AI, and other emerging technologies is becoming increasingly mature. The smart irrigation agriculture system is a typical AI use case in agriculture. By deploying AI along the agricultural value chain, we aim to unlock broader value in precision agriculture, whereby farming practices can be based on precise science, economy of inputs, and the maximization of productivity and the quality of agricultural products.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The platform uses innovative navigation controls to create an intermediate state between the two views of crops and equipment by adding a new guide track, i.e., it supports users to view both crop and equipment information to get a global overview, and users can also directly switch the navigation into a separate page to deal with work content. In terms of equipment configuration, the platform provides a map of equipment for users to frame and select, with good visibility for quick grouping, minimizing the memory line and complexity of configuration operations.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: First of all, the system maps all physical devices in digital space, which allows users to select and group configurations in the device map through box selection in an intuitive visual situation, reducing memory burden and cognitive cost. The system clearly divides the crop and equipment views to facilitate operation by different role users. Through innovative navigation controls, the platform also provides a superimposed display function to ensure a clear interface focus and take into account its flexibility.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in October 15, 2022, in Beijing and finished in November 09, 2022.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Based on AI and IoT, the Smart Irrigation Agriculture Platform can collect environmental factors, monitor crop status, and generate an intelligent irrigation program supported by an expert decision system. It helps achieve precise volume control for agricultural irrigation, reduce irrigation costs. Further, it integrates field monitoring capabilities, allowing users to control equipment remotely to improve field management and services, a true example of how AI can help improve agricultural productivity and efficiency while reducing costs.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The whole product is divided into three stages: sensing, decision, collaboration. In the sensing stage, the product will combine the information collected by the equipment and sensors to give a reasonable crop plan to assist users in farming arrangements. In the decision phase, the system will generate intelligent irrigation plan according to the target and range set by the user, combining crop, weather and expert experience. In the collaboration stage, users can flexibly configure the irrigation plan to the irrigation unit by dragging and dropping the box selection form.
CHALLENGE: It achieves digital mapping of the physical space. The environment, crop status, and equipment conditions are intuitively visualized in the digital space, which boosts user productivity and ability to coordinate with system level information. This platform provides a multiple level digital map of the physical space. From environmental sensing at the macro level to intervention at the equipment level, users can dive deeper, layer by layer, eliminating field investigation costs, allowing flexible control, and improving productivity.
