| DESIGN NAME: Cltips PRIMARY FUNCTION: Fresh Keeping Sealing Clip INSPIRATION: It was designed to encourage people to eat sealed food in a timely manner. Because of the busywork, people often forget a lot of things, resulting in a chaotic lifestyle, and the boundaries of the time limit gradually blurred. It tells people that we should cherish the present and seize the most delicious time, not only to pursue the pleasure brought by the food itself but also to develop a healthier and better lifestyle. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: In daily life,people will use a sealing clamp, sealing clamps have played an important role in closing and isolating from the external air, but the shelf life of food and the best appreciation taste period is often overlooked by people. Based on this problem, added the ink screen with the date reminding function into the sealing clip, combined with the concept of green design, thus adding solar panels to ensure the service life of the product. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: When using a clamp,it can be opened by pressing down on the left side as a normal clamp, Then user need to press the only button on the clamp to determine the shelf life of the bag of food; Shelf life has a variety length of time period to choose from, 3 days, 5 days, 7 days and so on, and then after flashing 2 seconds can be sealed operation, finally start the countdown. The way to reset the time is also very simple, just long-press 3 seconds, user can reset the device. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The design project started in Shenyang in October 2021, was completed in January 2022, and was exhibited in the Art Museum of China SYID Design Institute in January 2022. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: This product is a simple change on the basis of the traditional clip, only need to reserve a new opening in the traditional mold, the internal electronic components of the clip can be assembled later. In terms of display, a circular ink screen with low power consumption is adopted. The power supply part uses small solar panels, which can store electric energy when there is sunlight indoors. The green design concept is adopted to make the best use of everything and make people live a better life. Our main purpose is to remind people to eat the food with a short shelf life in time, so we set the maximum warning day at 7 days. set up a control experiment for different age groups. People in older age groups are more likely to forget sealed food, and when they are holding a food bag, nearly 70 percent of them need to think about when to open the food, and half of them realize that the food has gone bad when they eat it, resulting in a great waste. In the control group of older people, less attention was paid to food shelf life, because older people have a strong sense of conservation, just to reduce food waste. Therefore, when design, take into account that should not only remind young people not to be trapped by the fast pace of life, but also pay attention to the elderly group's concern about the expiration date, so as to solve the essential problem of waste reduction. CHALLENGE: During the design, should consider the use of what kind of method to indicate shelf life, what kind of technology to make the service life long. At the same time, without increasing the cost too much, let people use this product in the simplest way. So user use the current relatively cost-effective ink screen with long life; The addition of solar panels at the same time increases the life of the product, making it an everyday usable product.
