PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Exhibition and Experience Design

INSPIRATION:
With the rise of gender equality awareness, it is becoming more and more common for women to hold important positions in the workplace. With the rise of women's status and power, the most important issue for women is how to master the conflict between social identity and self-emotion. In addition, women's efforts to strike a balance and find self-identity is a new challenge for women in power in the future.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Obscure Costume is a project designed from a female perspective. To arouse women's emotional resonance, three stages are designed: Firstly, it researches women's emotions, combines the concept of famous queens in history, reshapes the visual design; Then, it uses the service design method to design a series of online Alternate reality game. Finally, a series of offline AR experience exhibits are linked, and brings a new immersive exhibition experience for women.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
The concept was developed with the female monarchs in history, extracting relevant documents, artifacts and art forms from historical texts, studying and summarizing the relevant characteristic patterns and visual elements, transforming them into images through textual descriptions, extracting object characteristics, retransforming the visuals, and adding emotional designs. Part of the design reshapes history and restores its appearance, thus creating a new design solution.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started in August 2020 in Taiwan Taipei and finished in January 2022 in Taiwan Taipei, and was exhibited in Taiwan Taipei in February 2022.

FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY:
Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
In order to make users perceive themselves as female power players, this design uses service design techniques to conduct user behavior research and customize and create services and experiences based on the research results. Since the creation of services is difficult to grasp in terms of users' emotions, this design uses the Barnum effect to strengthen users' emotional feelings, so that users can develop the awareness that the products are customized for them, and then create a sense of empathy and recognition for the service experience.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
In terms of operation, it combines online real-world experience game and offline real-world experience exhibition technology, and uses a story-telling approach to allow participants to experience interactive game design in real time through social media. Using the real world as the game platform for communication, through puzzle solving games, personal immersion psychological tests and real-time sharing filter design, and ultimately obtain a unique personality trait card. Finally, the organizer sends out invitation information for participants to interact with the products at the physical exhibition.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
In this project, we researched service design for users and created unique services and experiences based on the results of the research. Since the creation of services is difficult to grasp in the user's emotions, the Barnum effect was used to reinforce the user's emotional feelings and create an internal recognition that "the service is customized for them", which in turn creates empathy and recognition of the experience.

CHALLENGE:
This project attempts to use a more diversified perspective to shape the face of the historical figure, explore the deeper feelings of the historical figure, and use a broader perspective to produce a biography in an attempt to overthrow the stereotypes of the historical figure. This research attempts to take "independent, capable of self-development" as the core of the design concept, taking women as the starting point, combining historical patterns and development thread of thought, and then transforming them according to the analysis results to develop a series of products.
