| DESIGN NAME: Baidu Wiki PRIMARY FUNCTION: Virtual Zoo INSPIRATION: Since the outbreak of the COVIDD-19, people have been made aware of the power of nature, and China and the world have been actively promoting the fight against climate change and animal protection. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Baidu wiki virtual zoo is China's first live zoo, which helps children, teenagers and people with limited mobility to watch animals live online anytime, anywhere. In the live scenes, you can watch the animals' lives in a sedate manner and get "close to" them. It helps people to learn about animals and improve their understanding and knowledge of biodiversity issues while watching them. The stray cat warming program was launched to care for and rescue stray cats, helping to pass on the public good. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: In the live scenes, you can immerse yourself in the lives of the animals and get 'up close and personal' with them. Browse through various types of knowledge and videos related to animals, providing more ways to acquire knowledge through a combination of audio and visual. It also provides rescue services for stray cats through live interaction. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project starts in Beijing in May 2020, is completed in Beijing in May 2020 and is available on Baidu Applet in May 2020 |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Baidu Brain AI technology "cat face recognition" is used to release stray cats, as well as to identify the appearance of injuries and illnesses of stray cats and send them to the hospital for examination in time, and volunteers will add food and water for them every day. It is also possible to see the living condition of stray cats live online and provide rescue services for stray cats through live interaction, helping to pass on public welfare. Industry research, braining and user interviews were used in the early stages to identify features and innovation points. The design process used task analysis to design the user's pathway. And through research and field observed over 20 animal types, from humanoid to relatively cute and realistic animal shapes, we did many personified tests to ensure that the animal designs were cute and matched the real personified of each animal. CHALLENGE: The event-page is the first screen that users see when they enter, and it is crucial to be look good. The island designed a 3D scene map with land, sea and freshwater areas. The design challenge was to create a space that could display many animals (live) at the same time, with the flexibility to configure the position of each animal. The 3D visual scene and creatures were the starting point for our idea, hoping to bring a more lively and interesting visual experience to users.
