DESIGN NAME: Dreaming Reality
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Branding
INSPIRATION: Dreaming Reality is inspired by the story of Zhuang Zhou Dreaming Butterfly. The interweaving of dream and reality is like a butterfly dancing lightly in this world, maintaining the unique tranquility.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Dreaming Reality is the designer's own fashion brand. The logo uses a unicursal one-stroke-forming drawing method. Through the lightness and tactfulness of the brushstrokes, to embody the concept of interspersed dream and reality.
The main point of the brand is variability and detachability. Feel free to stagger and match all removable pieces in different suits. The goal is to look perfect without the add-ons; meanwhile, walk Fashion Week when people put on them.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: All the detachable add-on pieces can be customized mixed and matched with all the basic outfits from Dreaming Reality. Everyone can have their unique outfits.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in March 2021 in New York, USA, and finished in May 2021 in New York, USA. It hasn't been exhibited yet, only published on my website and SVA senior portfolio review.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The Logo is created by Procreate with iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. The clothes are all handmade with different clothes, like cotton twill, polyester fiber, silk, etc. The Black and white casual pieces are mainly sewed with a sewing machine by Brother. The detachable add-on pieces are all hand sewing, with silk satin and silk organza.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The removable pieces are attached with snap buttons and invisible metal hooks, with hand sewing.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Fashion week is a new experience for many people. However, it is a waste to wear it only once, after spending a tremendous amount of money to prepare a look for a fashion week. Moreover, most fancy fashions are not very comfortable. Therefore, the designer began to think about how to make clothing that has the function of daily wear has comfort and sustainability and can be changeable and fashionable.
CHALLENGE: For the branding identity part, the most challenging thing is to show the elegance, flexibility, interweaving of the clothes design, and the sense of dreaming through the logo.
For the clothes design part, the most challenging thing is to make all the removable pieces have enough invisible connectors to match with all the basic outfits.
