DESIGN NAME: Lynx
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Electric Car
INSPIRATION: We are inspired by an aero glider. To drive the Lynx Carver it feels exactly like flying an aero glider. No noise. Steering is soft and gentle. It literally feels like flying. Anyone can drive the Lynx Carver. You need no skills. its extremely easy to handle and you can not tilt over like you can on a motorbike. The Lynx Carver is the most fun you can have on 3 wheels. Just to a full lean when you do sharp turns. The Lynx Carver will follow your body motions
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: About LYNX LEAN ELECTRIC
The LYNX LEAN ELECTRIC is a slender, three-wheeled, twin-seat tilting vehicle. You steer it just like a car and it reacts just like a motorcycle, or better still, an aeroplane: when cornering, it banks.
But unlike a motorcycle, where the rider has to adjust the tilt angle by shifting his weight and/or counter steering, the LYNX LEAN ELECTRIC Dynamic Vehicle Control (DVC™) system will do the work for the driver.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The design is developed based on insights collected from 500 end consumers. The endconsumers asked for a light vehicle to fit their needs - how important is agility?. Agillity was rated very high amongst the end consumers and the users.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: 18 month. Croatia
FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Vehicle, Mobility and Transportation Design

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Alluminium and Carbon materials are used in order to create this electric bike. We started sketching the bikes and chose the current design out of 50 sketched vehicles. After the choise we went into the 3D phase and then finally the prototyping phase of the vehicle and the tilting mechanism
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 380 x 180 x 115 cm The weight is 380 Kilo. The frame is made from Autoclave Carbon. This makes the vehicle one of the strongest and lightest in the world amongst these types of small electric vehicles

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The design is developed based on insights collected from 500 end consumers. The endconsulers asked for a small city vehicle to fit their needs of transportation - how important is intuitive driving?. Intuitive driving was rated very high amongst the end consumers and the users. We are using a tilting mechanism to stabilise the vehicle.
CHALLENGE: The most critical challenge was to get the weight down to a record breaking level. The electric vehicle has a sport car dna and must therefor be light. But having the added weight of a battery and a motor was the most difficult challenge. The way we have solved the challenges is by using untraditional materials for an electric vehcicle such as carbon and kevlar instead of metal and alloy.
