PRIMARY FUNCTION: Health Monitoring Platform
INSPIRATION: The research in 2019 points that the worldwide population of elderly aged 65 and over is more than 703 million, which increased dramatically to 9.3% shared. It has attracted more attention of aging at home from the public. Meanwhile, the global pandemic has shed a light on many gaps, such as remote health monitoring and telehealth service. This smart health tracking system is designed to provide a new experience of precise care for elderly by enhance the service of health care centers.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: It is a smart health tracking system that provides interactive services with many automatic functionalities like real-time health monitoring, emergency alert, data record and analytical support. It will not only keep the caregivers posted all the time, but also offer medical staffs the instant approach of health evaluation with comprehensive records. Thus, it brings intelligent solution for the centers to improve working efficiency and proactive service of in-depth knowledge for the patients.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The dashboard features the latest status of person in color indicated. Red alert will pop up to cue caregivers for the urgency so that they will receive the necessary information at a glance and take the action immediately. There is space to take notes for optimizing the management system. The tracking data will be recorded automatically in each section, that allows medical staffs to review the trends anytime for comprehensive evaluation and to prevent any accidents with the informative support.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in May 2020 in China, and released this version in June 2021 in China. It is ongoing process with updates depending on new needs.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: It is responsive design that is available for desktop, laptop and tablet in English and Mandarin language versions. We used blue-green gradient as the background color which also represents the motion of respiration and brings the peaceful vibe to users. Meantime, we add some light skeuomorph elements to design detail, like the texture of diffuse shadow, visualization of folders or notes, which evoke the feeling of technology and the operation like that of binder at the same time.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: It works seamlessly with the smart device that advanced algorithm learns from the vital signs and motions of each user, to average personal threshold for prompt alert if any abnormal. Besides the comparative charts for trend analyzing, the interface is simplified by graphical information, such as visual sleeping score and the heatmap where to figure usual activity range of individual. Juggling data across portal and cloud is a manner that allows to instant assessment anytime without boundaries.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: By observation and interviews with staffs in care center, we received different insights in order to fulfill the requirements of every user group, such as caregivers, doctors and medical staffs. This will also help to determine the functionalities of the portal. So, we created the experience mapping and service blueprint for user groups, which inspired the design to address their needs separately from distinctive view as oppose to just generally show the technological statistics.
CHALLENGE: The challenge for this portal is about to balance the complexity of data that collected by smart devices. So, it does not only remain the intuitive interaction to caregivers with less manpower, meantime, but also encourage medical staff to do health evaluation proactively with deeper functionalities, such as data comparison and trend analysis. It should be put in the consideration to provide the learning-free user experience with simplified, systematic and visualized for each user group.
