| DESIGN NAME: Marjan PRIMARY FUNCTION: Beach Bridge INSPIRATION: The form of the bridge is inspired by the corals and the world under the sea. Corals create this beautiful island and they have carried it on their shoulders for years. The sense of growth of these corals, which have emerged and raised from the sea water to lead a pleasant path to the depths of the sea to amaze any viewer, is a feeling that inspired us to design this architectural and engineering pedestrian bridge, and all your senses will feel the beauty of this coral island. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This bridge is not only created based on bio morph, but also tried to make the feeling of being middle of the sea and be able to sit and watch the horizon line and make the memories, in a modern bridge. Moreover, There is a central floating mobile restaurant and stage in other side that makes you able to sit on the bridge and enjoy watching the concerts or the other amusing shows from the above and in the same time floating restaurant is able to move around to make its shows more desirable. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The Project is located in Kish Island, where is located on the north east of the Persian Gulf. There are concert hall and marina park for yachts and boats, Caffe shops and gym in each sides of the bridge wings, mobile floating restaurant in the center with the indoor and outdoor open area for serving people and also with the function of adjusting the standard musical instruments for concerts and other entertainment shows, that makes viewer able to watch it from the wide range of views. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The construction of the project started in September 2019 in Kish Island and up to now is under construction. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Main Design Software: Revit, Auto CAD, Rhinoceros, Grass Hopper, Vray, Lumion, Illustrator, Photoshop CS and Structure software analysis SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The total dimension is: (L) 360 m * (W) 215 m * (H) 37 m, with 680 meters of walking path TAGS: Marjan, Kish Island, Restaurant, Bio, Coral, Bio-morph, Architecture, Construction, Bridge, Concert hall, Gym RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Iran’s Sunshine Coast, well known as Kish Island, where is located on the north east of the Persian Gulf is the most attractive beach resort where visitors can swim, shop and sample a laid-back and relatively liberated local lifestyle. It is known for being a beautiful resort in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf, a unique coral island. Corals that are millions of years old and took ages to create this beautiful island and They have carried it on their shoulders for years. This unique coral beach has the most potential to be an iconic island in middle east. So, the identity of this icon has related to this silent creature (coral) which, itself, created this land middle of Persian Gulf. The architectural symbol of coral island based on Bio Morphic design with taste of modern white architecture and new structure technology in terms of forming and coating process to save a unique architectural sculpture for future generation as coral saved it for us. we presented a 3-dimension organic shape of perfect form, which there is no dead point for all viewing angles. Moreover, this bridge is harmonious with its surroundings which looks like a huge coral on the coach, to illustrate the combination of art and engineering in terms of architectural meaning, identity and also structural engineering, not only for its performance as a bridge, but also a place for entertaining people with various interests and moods for save their moments in their memories. CHALLENGE: Our main concern designing this unique bridge was to join structural performance and aesthetic beauty in the new concept of restaurant and make an emotional connection between people and the building.
