| DESIGN NAME: Entrèe PRIMARY FUNCTION: Multifunctional Table Set INSPIRATION: Entrée are tableware ispired to the France, consisting of 3 elements: Plate, Tray and Cover. The shapes and colors recall traditional French macarons but the function is designed to consume traditional dishes. The elements can be combined and used to present different types of flow rates. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Entrée - The Entrée collection is part of the Design Around project, which includes objects inspired by the traditions of the world. Entrée are tableware ispired to the France, consisting of 3 elements: Plate, Tray and Cover. The collection is made of ceramic and turned wood in the colors candy pink, turquoise, yellow and white, always with golden enamel finishes OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: A multifunctional system whose components act from time to time as a plate and lid, plate and backsplash, or plate, tray and centerpiece: a set that reveals always different uses to welcome gastronomic breaks in the name of a useful and at the same time playful design . PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in 2016 in Florence and was exhibited in Vicenza at Open Design Italia, at the Salone del Mobile in April 2017 and at Edit Napoli 2019. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The collection is handcrafted in ceramic and turned wood. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Conceived in 2016, the collection is made of ceramic and turned wood in candy pink, turquoise, yellow and white, always with golden enamel finishes. Each single part of the project measures: plate ø 14.5 cm - lid ø 14.5 cm x H 7 cm - tray ø 16 cm. TAGS: ceramic, table set, italian design, centerpiece, plate, tray RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The project was carried out by a craftsman who works with ceramics, making each element by hand. Even the wooden tray is made by a turner who works every single piece by hand. Each element is complementary made so that it can fit together perfectly. The goal was to create a product that is beautiful to look at and useful in everyday life CHALLENGE: The design challenge was to create a multi-functional object whose shapes are inspired by the typical French macaroons. The table collection had to be multi-functional: to be used as a piece of furniture when closed or as a set for the everyday table when it is broken down. NAME: Atelier Macramè PROFILE: Atelier Macramè is a project by Laura Calligari _ architect. was born to give light to limited edition objects. After architectural studies, Laura Calligari founded in 2010 the online design magazine www.arredativo.it, an attentive observer of all the best of yesterday and today's design; in 2013 she creates Atelier Macramè and becomes a designer of small series of objects and collections - always inspired by the simplicity and traditions of everyday life - realized with the support of selected local artisans expressing their manufacturing excellence in contemporary design objects. Her project Bakery Stool is among the items selected for the W. Women in Italian Design at the Triennale of Milan. |
