| DESIGN NAME: Pop Star PRIMARY FUNCTION: View Platform INSPIRATION: Is the world we see reliable? The human visual system has only three types of cones, so we are like colour blindness when we look at the world, compared with other creatures; While the unique visual system of bird contains four types of cones that allow them to distinguish a lot more colour; Many insects have compound eyes. It consists of a variable number of ommatidia, which is generally hexagonal. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Pop Star is based on the geometric shape of the icosahedron. Through the deconstruction of space and the reconstruction of form, the artist finally constructed this 'monster' with a huge volume that exceeds the human visual reading scale, like an alien object flying in from another dimension of time and space. Viewers could feel the association between the Pop Star and transcendental theory that Ralph Waldo Emerson said: The world globes itself in a drop of dew. This power is freed from text and narrative, which view the unknown unbounded universe in transcendentalism way. NAME: One Take Architects PROFILE: Li Hao received his Bachelor of Architecture from CAFA. He found One Take Architects in 2016, an innovative design firm which engaged in practices of architecture, art, landscape, planning and product design. One Take Architects is devoted to discover the unrevealing relationship and various possibilities in existing context, strive to achieve subtle, emotional spaces that can have multiple readings, create architecture that is logical, sustainable, and that speaks of its time. They start small and stay away from challenging local building industry with advanced materials and techniques, deal with what is possible. In order to create the new perception and experience which are exclusive to each project, One Take Architects designed a series of activating ephemeral architectures, usually small and beautiful, but capable of leveraging something really big. They really want to create a sense of material authenticity and delight, and human-scale quality, variety, variability, and intricacy. |
