PRIMARY FUNCTION: Tea Table
INSPIRATION: The neutral mono-color gray of the base structure is considered with the aim of collecting total concentration on the matte and its identic Persian green marble texture.
The dynamic surface pattern, including the thin light linear metal structure, makes it possible to have different light effects on the ground as well.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: 154 Small green marble pieces can flow dynamically on the table surface which makes it possible for the user to interact with them, and personalize the surface pattern. This ability remembers us the old Persian “Gabbeh” that is used as the cover of traditional Persian table “Korsi” at “Yalda” nights.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: 5 Modules of Small green marble pieces can flow dynamically on the table surface which makes it possible for the user to interact with them, and personalize the surface pattern.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The design phase started in Feb2019 in Milan, Italy, with supervision of studio Italo Rota and Alessandro Pedretti, It realized in Tehran, in Auguste 2019, and it exhibited on October 2019 in Tehran

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The Tea Table is designed to be easily assembled in 3 separable Metal frame pieces which contain the 154 CNC pieces of stones that are categorized into 5 base modules.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: radition the longest and darkest night of the year was a particularly inauspicious day, and the practices of what is now known as "Shab-e Chelleh/Yalda" were originally customs intended to protect people from evil during that long night, at which time the evil forces of Ahriman were imagined to be at their peak.
