PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Mercku's M6 AX Mesh System transcends the traditional sense of boxy Wi-Fi routers with protruding antennas by unifying form and function without compromising performance. After conducting hundreds of thermal simulations, Mercku overcomes the challenge of heat dissipation by placing passive cooling channels adjacent to the main heat source. With rich silhouettes inspired by automotive design, the M6 seamlessly integrates into any home to give users a sense of high performance even when turned off.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Router Dimensions (L x W x H): 140 x 53 x 206 mm

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: While designing the M6 AX Wi-Fi System, Mercku conducted in-depth heat dissipation simulations and research using Flo Therm XT software. Throughout testing, the M6's product temperature was reduced by 23% compared to similar tiered products, significantly improving product stability.
To optimize the M6's user experience, Mercku conducted several questionnaires to provide the design and engineering team with insights into how to make the product more user-friendly. 450 questionnaires later, the team was able to identify optimal port and button placements as well as additional software features that customers seek, incorporating them into the final design of the M6.
CHALLENGE: The main challenge in minimizing router size is inadequate heat dissipation, and the failure to address it adequately can negatively impact device longevity and performance. The M6's shell design is elegant and seamlessly incorporates passive cooling vents adjacent to each side of the primary heat-producing IPQ6000 chipset. The upright design and hidden channels along the device's edges are also conducive to heat dissipation without compromising its appearance.
