DESIGN NAME: Zoomo Cargo
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Ebike
INSPIRATION: We are inspired of the old classical cargo bikes like the Christiania bike from Copenhagen. However we gave the classical cargo bike a modern twist by adding new materials and new driving features. Integrated lights and integrated display. The driving experience is like driving a normal bicycles because of a well designed steering mechanism that allows the driver to lean into corners. Exactly like you do on a regular bike. The bike fit one adult and two kids.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is a very modern electric cargo bike dressed in an iconic appearance. The electric cargo bike is made out of alloy and carbon. There is build in lights on this new iconic vehicle. The vehicle can carry up to two children. There is a tilting device underneath the cargo box that makes the bicycle extremely easy to drive. Just lean into the corners as on a normal bicycle. This makes the bicycle not only easy to drive but also very safe to drive.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The design is developed based on insights collected from 500 end consumers
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: 12 month from first sketch to final vehicle 12 month from first sketch to final product. Made and developed in Croatia. Alluminium and Carbon materials are used in order to create this electric bike. We started sketching the bikes and chose the current design out of 50 sketched bikes. After the choise we went into the 3D phase and then finally the prototyping phase.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We have done research in aerodynamics, weight ratio to stiffness of the frames. This is a totally new method in the electric bicycles industry where those parameters mentioned has not been explored before now with our new Maserati bicycle product.Protanium/Asia Kingston has the licence rights to use the Maserati brand for electric bicycles.
CHALLENGE: The most critical challenge was to get the weight down to a record breaking level. The electric bicycle has a race bike dna and must therefor be light. But having the added weight of a battery and a motor was the most difficult challenge. The way we have solved the challenges is by using untraditional materials for an electric bike such as carbon and kevlar instead of metal and alloy
