DESIGN NAME: Moment
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sculpture
INSPIRATION: Memories are the reflection of life. Being part of a memory makes the soul immortal. Looking back with longing, every moment that catches the eye touches a different feeling. Sometimes a scent, sometimes a light touch. For this reason, the idea was to perpetuate and immortalize the most special moments in the rapidly flowing time, and inspired by the unforgettable moments.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The heirloom porcelains that make up the work carry the traces of history to the present, while the sculpted glass represents a frozen moment and timelessness. The fact that the glass in antique cups is shaped like it is when a liquid splashes brings together a snapshot of the fluidity with the viewer. Colored glasses preferred as transparent and opaque were selected in accordance with the structure and concept of the cup.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Many important companies attach importance to artist and brand collaborations. At this point, important collaborations and projects that make a difference can be realized for both artists and brands. While brands can take different orientations with the perspective of the artist while determining their strategies, artists can develop different presentation and marketing methods other than exhibiting their works in galleries.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: "Moment Series" was exhibited in many different galleries. Since October 2020, within the "Hunger Games" installation, the successful porcelain brand Porland has been included in the collection and some of it continues to be exhibited in Istanbul Akmerkez store.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Relic porcelains and blown borosilicate glasses are the main materials of the "Moment Series". First of all, we started out by searching for the right non-glass object. Sketches were then made to connect the found relic with the glass. After the glass is shaped, it is combined with the heirloom object in the most aesthetic and physical way.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Real size heirloom porcelains were preferred and the glass that best suits it was blown / shaped. Since the pieces are very sensitive, extra care has been taken in packaging. The mold is made using bubble stretch and rigid foam and the work is fixed to the mold.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: During the undergraduate education period, many conceptual and technical trainings were received in response to the question of how to use glass as an artistic expression. During the graduate education period, trends were better explored and determined. In this way, it has been learned more clearly how glass turns into liquid with heat and when combined with concepts, it turns into an artwork. The strong integrity of the contrasts and meanings that emerged when glass was used with different materials during doctorate education attracted attention. While researching the harmony arising from contrasts such as east-west, old-new, matte-bright, colored-colorless, the adventure of combining glass with materials other than glass has been continued. As a result of all this training and research, "Moment Series" has emerged.
CHALLENGE: The most challenging part of creating my "Moment Series" works is combining the right object with the glass and emphasizing the moment.
