DESIGN NAME: Yango Starry Bay
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sales Center
INSPIRATION: The project is located in Quanzhou City, which is known as the producing area of porcelain in China. Taking the location into consideration, designers take the porcelain kiln as the inspiration to build the space while deconstruct and reassemble the kilns which are with historical and cultural significance, integrating it into the interior area with modern design skills.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Designers use the “brick” element to give the space a sense of rhythm and use the “arch” element to shape the specific temperament, and therefore forming the connection with local history and culture.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The sales office is designed for helping customers to know better and deeper about the newly constructed buildings and houses. They will see the overall construction plan of the buildings here and can get in touch with sales managers if they have any questions and can make the purchase of houses here.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project is located in Dehua City, Fujian Province, China. It takes about two months to finish the construction.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The project used several materials, such as brick, waterstone, bronze drawing stainless steel and latex paint.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The project makes research of the traditional porcelain kiln culture in Dehua city, the design trend of the oriental culture as well as business development after culture involved in the consumption economy nowadays.
CHALLENGE: It is important for designers to have an overall understanding of the local culture before initiating the design. Designers spent a large amount of time to study the culture and characteristics in Dehua City.
