| DESIGN NAME: Shr.d PRIMARY FUNCTION: Music Player INSPIRATION: We get inspiration from the shape of modern products style. The vinyl record player is a music player in the very classical tradition. Our motive was to redesign the record player. So that it can be integrated into the modern home. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: It is a vinyl record player design reimagined in a modern design style. This is the main obvious difference. In functionally, it is a music device that you can hang on the wall. Its elegant style and modern shape make it a beautiful accessory. Users can enjoy the beauty of vinyl music through shr.d. In addition, shr.d can also be used as a beautiful home stereo, users can play more music through usb. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: First, take out shr.d and install it on the wall, fix it and connect the power supply and shr.d can be used normally. Then take out the user's favorite vinyl record on shr.d, pull the dial lever can play. In addition, there is a USB port on the right side of shr.d. At this point shr.d becomes a beautiful home stereo, users can connect to usb and play other favorite songs. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in September 2020 in Milan and finished in February 2021 in that place, and was exhibited in China in February 2021. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Its base is made of ABS, and the heat conduction is slow enough to keep the user from feeling cold. ABS material has strong impact resistance, scratch resistance, dimensional stability, and other characteristics, at the same time both moisture-proof, corrosion resistance, easy processing, and other characteristics. ABS material is also very environmental protection, because of the use of environmental chemicals, so there is no toxicity and no smell, but also to electrical insulation, is a very safe material. CHALLENGE: This is an innovative design with a complex internal structure, and the machining qualification rate is the biggest challenge encountered by this project.
