| DESIGN NAME: Hair Salon PRIMARY FUNCTION: Animal Toy INSPIRATION: It is very important to cultivate children's hands-on skills. Children can dress the sheep toy into ewe, ram or punk sheep, so that they can freely create their own style for the toy. The toy is suitable for playing with other people, such as friends and parents, and creates a lot of fun by making funny hair. The dough can be reused and does not require electricity, so it is a sustainable toy. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The unique properties are to make children become dough hairdressers giving full play to their creativity to design different hair styles for animals. It is very important to cultivate children's hands-on skills. It is hoped that through the process of making animal hairstyles, the six abilities of children can be improved: creativity, concentration, cognition, logic, aesthetics and expression. Trying to make animal hairstyles is an experimental process and kids can play together. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Since this is a new toy launched, it has already received some good responses. “My son usually gets bored after playing with toys a few times. But this dough salon toy, he can play again and again, especially during epidemics.” Children need to put the dough in the animal toy, and through squeezing, the hair will be squeezed out. Dough is a material that can be reused. The dough will dry out after a period of use, but just add a little water to restore its original elasticity. This reuse material will benefit both users and environment. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Duration: January 2019 to January 2021. Location: Hong Kong and Ningbo. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The material of this toy is plastic and is made by injection molding. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 10cm x 8cm x 5cm for each animal size. TAGS: Dough, animal hair design, Series design, sustainable toy, hands-on skill RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Dough is a material that is easy to shape; however, children need to create artifacts from scratch. This may make some children less motivated to play the dough. To solve this problem, we designed four cute animal shapes so children can learn to understand different animals and creative different hair styles for them to develop their own craft skills. CHALLENGE: Taking leading the growth of children's aesthetics as the project mission, the toy that integrates art (Art), games (Play) and imagination (Think), and is committed to children's aesthetic toys and aesthetic education. In order to reduce fixation of children thinking, we designed four cute animal shapes. For example, children can dress the sheep toy into ewe, ram or punk sheep, so that they can freely create their own style for the toy.
