RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The shop name "Dapab" is named after a beautiful scenic area in Chengdu, China. We studied the geographical character of the location first and begin to draw conceptual story out of it.
CHALLENGE: The project required to provide a welcoming restaurant design that is attractive to the passersby inside this busy mall. Client wanted it all age orientated to make the stereotyped Sichuan cuisine more hospitable. Privacy was one great concern too, client wanted an unconventional space that able to encourage private conversation, so small groups of customers from the hustle city can liberate there longer. Occasional private event was also another guideline.
