| DESIGN NAME: Jeep Eclimber PRIMARY FUNCTION: Electric Folding Bike INSPIRATION: Since 1941, the JEEP brand has been a symbol of freedom and capability. Designed for peak performance in rugged conditions it is created for living life without limits. Enthusiastic and inspired by authenticity JEEP is always ready to meet the world with feet firmly planted on the ground, in the mud, or rising up to reach the highest crest of mountains. This ebike is inspired by and created for making the most of your desire to explore the world around you. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The eClimber is a unique electric folding bike. The frame is made in an innovative combination of magnesium and alloy, making it strong and light. With an energy saving rear motor and a powerful battery completely hidden and integrated, it is optimized in design and functionality. With new and specialized engineering technology the bike can be completely folded to be carried or fit almost anywhere. With its robust wheels and a smart carrier, this JEEP ebike is designed for freedom. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: With its strong electric drive unit and unique designed medium size seat, the eClimber gives you a comfortable and performance oriented ride. With its lightweight and many folding functions, it can be carried around almost anywhere or fit in any car trunk. With its Shimano 7 speed gearbox, suspension front fork, rear rack, and lights the performance and user experience are complete. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was started in Milano (Italy) in June 2020 and has just begun production in various sites across the world. The production will be displayed in the Ifa Show (September 2021), Hk Electronics Show (October 2021), Milan Eicma Show (November 2021), and Ces Las Vegas (January 2022). PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The eClimber was carefully designed to optimize folding functions of the frame, wheels, and stem while making the electric parts safe protected. Produced in an innovative combination of magnesium and aluminum the electric bike is both light and strong. With its powerful 36V10AH battery and high efficient 40Nm energy saving rear motor, the bike has an excellent start performance with low noise and a smooth motor activating power. Produced under the quality standard EN151942017. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The total height of the bike is just 112 cm and the length is 140 cm. The distance between the seat post and the handlebar stem makes up 40 cm. The distance between the multifunctional height adjustable seat post, saddle, and stem offers a superior ergonomic position for the user. The basic height setting from the ground to the saddle is 85 cm and the distance from the ground to the chain is 18 cm offers an experience of low riding and full user control. The design and function should align with the dna of JEEP of living life without limits. The objective was to combine a high capacity battery with innovative magnesium and aluminum technology for both frame and wheels, to create a bike not only superior in design but in performance and agility as well. The users of the bike feel free, mobile, and perfectly safe on the two wheel electric bike. CHALLENGE: The challenge of this project was to engineer an electric bike with the focus of the modern design, complete performance, perfect geometry, and high end quality of components. Historically speaking folding bikes have primarily been an object for recreation, and not design or everyday use. This project aims to challenge the status quo by developing a uniquely designed mass market bike that is more than just fun, but also safe to use and affordable compared with other electric bikes on the market.
