DESIGN NAME: The Bamboo Forest
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Simple Lodging
INSPIRATION: Started after receiving a consultation from Ms.Sakamoto the director of Zounokuni at Ichihara. In today's society, where many people are exhausted from work and daily urban life and are seeking opportunities to refresh their minds and bodies, the healing effect of being surrounded by nature and animals is highly evaluated. Located in a location that is easily accessible by car from central Tokyo, this facility will be an urban oasis in a stressed society.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is leisure facilities in collaboration zoo and glamping. If you stay there, you can touch animals a anytime. For example, you can have a breakfast with giraffes, and you can experience feed capybara, lemur and other animals. Adults are healed their mind, and children are learned at there through such experiences. A leisure facility where you can experience new things.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The project started from the thoughts of Mr. Sakamoto, the director of the national garden of Ichihara Elephant, but I was conscious of making it a project that would lead to the revitalization of zoos nationwide, where the number of customers is decreasing due to the declining birthrate by making this project successful. We aimed to provide a place where we can provide "healing" and "learning,"; which are said to be in high demand in today's stressful society.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started design in 2019 and finished in 2020 at Ichihara City, Chiba Prefecture.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The project started from the thoughts of Mr. Sakamoto, the director of the national garden of Ichihara Elephant, but I was conscious of making it a project that will lead to the revitalization of zoos nationwide, where the number of customers is decreasing due to the declining birthrate by making this project successful. We aimed to provide a place where we can provide "healing" and "learning,"; which are said to be in high demand in today's stressful society.
CHALLENGE: The difference from the usual glamping facility is that it is located next to the zoo and you can experience interacting with animals. The six accommodation buildings have naming interiors inspired by the animals of "Sayuri World" and the sister garden "Ichihara Elephant Country", and are combined with "Zoo" and "Bamboo Forest" to create a normal glamp in terms of both hardware and software. I was conscious of a design that makes you feel more healed, which hides the line from the ping facility.
