| DESIGN NAME: Axeed PRIMARY FUNCTION: Mobile Application INSPIRATION: Freelance designers often encounter various problems in their work. Some cannot make customers pay on time, some cannot manage their work well. On the other hand, customers will also encounter the problems of designers failing to synchronize progress in time, and hard to find suitable designers. The existing platform cannot effectively solve the problem, so I want to rethink a freelance designer platform so that it can benefit both designers and customers. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Axeed provides a new way of working and cooperation for freelance designers and clients. Through the style and skill matching system, customers can find the most suitable designers. At the same time, this platform can help designers solve all aspects of chores, including contract creation, payment tracking, and project management. The ultimate goal of Axeed is to help designers and clients communicate effectively and complete work perfectly on time. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Axeed has designed a platform for freelance designers and clients separately. After designers choose their software skills and style preferences, Axeed will automatically recommend matching jobs for them. On the other hand, after customers set their style and skill requirements, Axeed will also recommend matching designers to them. At the same time, Axeed also offers users step-by-step payments. Every time the designers complete the work, they need to upload the progress on the App. The customers on the other hand need to confirm the progress and pay for this progress. In this way, it can ensure that customers pay in time and designers upload progress in time. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in May 2020 and finished in August 2020 in Los Angles. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: In the phase of research, I did secondary research, expert interview, mind map and survey. In the phase of function creation, I did persona creation, user journey map creation, information architecture creation, and Moscow creation. In the design phase, I use Adobe XD and Adobe illustration to create the prototype. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: iOS，Android TAGS: Mobile APP, UI design, UX design, Interaction design, User Experience, iphone, freelance designer RESEARCH ABSTRACT: To start with, in order to better understand the pain points of freelance designers and clients, I did a large number of secondary research and found useful data to came to a conclusion. Based on the secondary research results, I created a questionnaire to interview freelance designers to get more qualitative information. Based on that, I defined the biggest pain points for freelance designers and clients and developed problem statements. In order to better understand the market opportunity, I also did the competitive analysis, I researched 5 competitors in the existing market place, and researched their functions, pros, and cons. Based on that, I defined my market opportunity place. After creating the prototype, I also did five rounds of user tests to explore the feasibility of the design. CHALLENGE: In the process of designing an application, the biggest problem is how to present various aspects of information. For example, the job details page needs to display job descriptions, customer information, technical requirements, style preferences, time requirements, and so on. How to arrange this information to make it easier for users to read is a big problem I need to solve. Therefore, when designing the interface, I designed several different versions of the same page and selected the most effective way of presenting information through user testing.
