DESIGN NAME: DeliverE
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Transportation Mean
INSPIRATION: Designed with agile movement, and very few lines.
Main silhouette, inspired by the iconic, and classic mailman hat that most of us know today.
The happy and funny feeling, is an anchor that was learned and tested during the entire design process, in order to avoid generic designs, and in order to imply an emotion, that occurs in interaction with this vehicle - which is an important thing since there is no mailman.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Delivers Mail Autonomously and not requires a person to operate. Works as an electric stand alone system, and uses a roof solar panel to generate Energy.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: DeliverE is delivering mail autonomously, after it has been loaded up at the post office. the vehicle is Powered by sun light, and backed up with an electric powertrain which includes batteries.
When the vehicle arrives at the customer's address, a text message
is delivered to the recipient. With the help of pre-programmed GPS system, the vehicle reaches the next destination autonomously. The package arrival is a Happy ceremony, from a welcoming machine, that brings a bright future from AI.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in March 2019 in Turin and finished in June 2020 in Turin, and won Honda's worldwide student design competition of 2019-2020 in Rome at September 2020.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: DeliverE is the future standard of mail delivery. Each vehicle is powered by an electric motor, which gets it's energy from a curved solar panel located on the roof, in order to capture more angles of sunlight during the day. Back-up batteries located at the bottom powertrain. Inside the vehicle there is a roll conveyor, which is loaded according to a GPS sequence in advance; determined according to the dispersion distance, in order to optimize resources.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The research was about forms, technological aspects, and user interraction. Development of an appealing three-dimensional shape that can allow maximum space. A large study about internal components, for a smoother engagements with costumer and workers, which led me to continue with my original idea without changing its dimensions for its uniqueness. Research about different chassis, powertrains & solar energy. User experience, has been a major guide for me through the entire design process.
CHALLENGE: The idea of this product came before constructing it. through the design phase, the big challenge I had to confront with, is the implementation of an interesting, fresh, and interacting exterior shape, that can combine together with the ideal cubic space, which is an ideal for maximum vehicle capacity.
