| DESIGN NAME: The Winding Sunlight PRIMARY FUNCTION: Library INSPIRATION: This project is exclusively designed for preschool children to set up a picture book library. Its idea comes from childrens perception and interactive nature when they are in touch with the environment, using pure flowing lines and contrasting colors to design the space. The dynamic atmosphere of space triggers children's instincts of space exploration. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The concept of transparent space is used in this design and the space is not absolutely demarcated. It is laid out in bright and lively mustard green and turkey blue. Also, it adopts a three-dimensional shape to enclose the geometric soft decoration in multiple spatial configurations. With the flow curve of the layer plan, it cuts out an open free field. Hiding the function in the cabinet, it uses the arc and the rounded window view as the cutting. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The whole space takes the idea of preschool childrens learning field. The design takes childrens natural sense of order and creativity into account. Thus, the design team adopts the elements of three-dimensional geometry, arcs, free curves, and bright colors that are close to childrens psychology. Also, the design team employs wood materials and progressive colors so that the overall space presents a concise and rich spatial tone of flowing image. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The whole space is designed as an open field with multiple functions. In consideration of the comprehensive characteristics of the space, the open field is used as the main idea, supplemented by circular, arcuate, and linear flow. The curve elements are gradually deployed in space. The learning space wont restricted to traditional classrooms. Space maintains flexibility in the field and the design team design exclusive configurations for children. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: This project is exclusively designed for preschool children. It takes good advantage of geometric shape cutting as the main idea. Uses arc curves and bright colors to appropriately adjust the height of steps and laminates. Adopts wooden materials and a three-dimensional ceiling cut by 3D thunder, which matches harmoniously with bright colors. It presents a concise and gentle spatial tone. The design elements include the free curves and three-dimensional geometric objects in the whole space. TAGS: Exclusive space for children, Open and flexible space, Abstract and simple geometry, Flowing curves, Progressive color RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The design team makes the space well-planned and plans the most suitable activity field for preschool children. The design team realizes that children have innate cognition in space. A fluid and harmonious space tone are formed through three-dimensional geometric and curved surface cutting elements. Also, many circular arc surfaces are used such as ring lights in the three-dimensional wooden grid ceiling, the mustard green spiral reading rooms rounded ground, half-curved bookcases, opposite windows, curved ladder, and streamlined stratum. CHALLENGE: In order to make the geometric shapes have distinct three-dimensional characteristics in the space, a corner of the ceiling is specially cut and customized with wooden fence-like pieces of wood. Also, the arrangement is arranged with smooth curve textures to match the overall spatial tone. The three-dimensional wooden grid ceiling presents a linear distribution, echoing the arc-cut bookcases, the spiral ceiling of reading rooms, and cushion-backed chairs with arm-wrapped.
