DESIGN NAME: Posto P10
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Fuel Sales
INSPIRATION: Together with our client, we sought to have the design of this gas station radically transform the fuel sales market in Brazil.
Inspired by concepts of monumentalism, which we associate with terms like: Aethereo, Futurist and Technology, and ECO - friendly desing, since it is located in the Amazon region, which is considered the lungs of the world.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project is part of the transformation that the brand "Equador energia" suffered as a result of the visual identity unification with "Dislub energia". It was based on the remodeling of one of the most important and chosen gas stations in the area of Manaus, transforming it into an (incredible) improved Flagship for the brand. This design is materialized by a Startingate model with 40.00m of free light in the longitudinal direction and 11.00m in the transversal direction of full development that allow the flow of natural light throughout the property and a smooth flow of vehicles and pedestrians that enjoy the station.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This iconic gas station in the city of Manaus has positively and radically changed the landscape of the city in which it is developed.
It has helped to give more lighting and status to the area, not to mention that it has also encouraged the movement of both vehicles and pedestrians.
In the future it will also encourage the development of new shops in the area, as this is a flagship station and has a large influx of customers.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project is located in the city of Manaus, in Brazil.
We started to work with our client on November 2017, and once the renovation process started we were abble to see the see the re-oppening on July 2020.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: For this project, we first carried out an extensive market research. Gas stations in Brazil are very different from what we are used to.
Once we had a clear idea of the situation, we investigated what was outstanding in Mananos, how its people were, what customs they had, how they spent their time, etc. In addition, we were able to found creative paths that help us to identify design concepts. We presented three to our client, and they choose the "monumental" path, and the rest is history.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The design has 40.00m x 11,00 m of free light, united by two eccentric legs made with metal and reinforced concrete. They are responsible for linking the main estructure.
The aesthetics of the canopy transmits lightness and modernity.
On the roof there is a translucent ceiling, that creates the effect of being always illuminated, by day thanks to zenithal lighting and by night by artificial lighting.
On the front and back we find themain identification through the Brand Panel.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: For this particular project we did not carry out any specific creative process, because those processes had already been done when designing the new image of the company.
Our work consisted mainly in optimizing and correctly use ofthe design choosen to be able to apply it in that specific gas station that needed to be remodeled with the new premises of the brand image.
CHALLENGE: the market for gas stations in Brazil is gigantic. And the level of design that we observed, at least in the city of Manaus, left a lot to be desired. Our biggest challenge was to design a gas station that was on par with those that are present in the bigest cities of the world, with a limited budget, and in a place where users are guided to buy more by the price of their fuel than by the design and comfort of the station.
