| DESIGN NAME: Irises PRIMARY FUNCTION: Ring INSPIRATION: Irises Vincent van Gogh Date: 1889; Saint-rémy-de-prove UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Van Gogh’s irises have blue flowers with sword shaped leaves that are long and laminar. The flowers are represented in this double ring by sapphires and topazes while the sculptured gold conveys the leaves in their movement. The double ring is both comfortable and stunning! OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Lightweight Confortable Perfect ergonomics Durable Bold Unforgettable Gorgeous PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in september 2019 in Brasilia, Brazil, and finished in January 2020 in Brasilia, Brazil. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Gold 18K Blue Sapphire 0,52CT Topaz London 0,15CT Topaz Sky 0,21CT Handmade, matte finish and prong setting SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Dimensions (Height x Width x Depth): 2,38 x 5,14 x 1,34 mm Net Weight: 12,26g Diameter 17,5 and 17,8 mm Brazil Size 17 and 18 US Size 6 3/4 and 7 1/4 TAGS: Jewelry, fine jewelry, high jewelry, jewelry design, jewelry designer, Jeweller, ring RESEARCH ABSTRACT: After extensive research on Van Gogh's paintings (there are almost 2000 works), the painting was chosen that would be the inspiration for the design. Then research was carried out on the painted tree (understanding of what the painter saw to be inspired). Realized the ideal design of the piece and choice of the ideal materials for execution. CHALLENGE: During the search for the idealized materials, some types of gemstones were not located and some cut formats were unavailable. The acquisition of gemstones in other formats and types was carried out and a new design was performed adapting to the materials found.
