DESIGN NAME: The Evergrowing
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Bank
INSPIRATION: The Evergrowing bank - With the meaning of ever-growing in Chinese as the bank’s major business statement, the Chinese bamboo tree became the leading concept of the entire design. IMO design have created a modern facade with aluminium alloy piling a five-storey high building featuring the structure is designed to reference the bamboo growing characteristics with interpretation of the bank taken root in Hong Kong with spirit of perseverance and vigorous growth.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Bringing together the sleek design and slender lines detail, which accentuates the brand colour in green. This is simple yet powerful to define the brand identity.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: As the bank hall is positioned on the first floor, designer opened up the facade and created a full-height glazing all the way from ground level to the first. This new intervention translates the transparency of customer service complied by the bank.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in Match 2018 in Hong Kong and finished in Jan 2019.

CHALLENGE: The facade design development needs to balance brand elements, Three-dimensional visual, and building regulations at the same time. The projection from the existing building only allows 350mm. 3D Model and repeatedly partial mockup were reviewed on-site are required in order to get the most perfect result.
