DESIGN NAME: SeekIn
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Office
INSPIRATION: The design concept of SeekIn Office takes inspiration from the company's business nature, biotechnology and cells. The designer used curvy lines and irregular shapes, resembling cells, to create an interesting and innovative workspace.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project aims to create a sense of clarity and simplicity through the spacious layout design with the use of white and blue. Inspired by cells, the office is composed by mostly curvy lines to avoid the sense of rigidness in traditional offices. One of the major focus of this design is low carbon and sustainable design, with pot plants introduced in the office area, as well as the terrace garden with green plants, fountain, and seating area which employees can relax.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Even though the design is an innovative one, the office serves its purposes well. Common working area, pantry, conference room, the place is well-lit with special designed lighting. The terrace is the perfect place for a breath of fresh air during a long day's work with green plants and fountain.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project is finished in 2018 in Shenzhen, China.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: This design looks innovative with a relatively easy approach to build. We have used self-leveling cement (flooring), PVC (curvy shaped flooring), wooden partition with fire-proof plywood finish. The cell-shaped lights are LED light tubes covered with vinyl to create the special effects.
