| DESIGN NAME: Cabulero Mini Monsters PRIMARY FUNCTION: Art Toy INSPIRATION: All of us, whether or not we believe in luck, will have done something to make it happen to us. And in that voracious search for love, wealth, prosperity, ... happiness! We inevitably consult popular wisdom. Tips like getting a rabbit's foot, a clover and even a dead bone as my grandmother would say, could possibly help our purpose. And were you told that there are more effective and less scandalous amulets? ... since it would interest you. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Cabulero Mini Monsters are amulets, attractive original figures and novelties, to give to whoever you want and in any commitment, they bring good fortune. So if you want a little magic spark (not miraculous either) in your life. Welcome! ... and remember the saying: "Luck is crazy and it's up to anyone" OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: These are Art Toys created from a simple modeling paste. They are collectible pieces of low stock because they are handmade pieces, they do not have joints, their care must be important because they are delicate items. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The Cabulero Mini Monsters Project began in March 2014 in Quito - Ecuador and ended in June 2014 (the first series of Art Toys). The 50 pieces made were sold. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Cabulero Mini Monsters are amulet figures, made by hand with modeling paste and later if you want to create a series you can make silicone molds for reproduction in resin. For its finishes (in detail, as it should be) they are made by hand with acrylic paint. Therefore, it is friendly to the environment and of quality... Ah! and of course they are made in Ecuador. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: width 55 mm, depth 70 mm, height 70 mm TAGS: Cabulero, Monsters, Aart Toy, Toy, Lucky, charms, amuleto, Ecuador RESEARCH ABSTRACT: For the development of Cabulero Mini Monsters, the research starts with the need to create non-existent pieces in the local market. The only thing similar to an Art Toy is the crafts identified in various towns in different regions of Ecuador. Our goal is to create unique and exclusive Art Toys to open a collecting market in the country. Our research methodology was based on the observation of these crafts on various trips within the country for the compilation of references and information for the elaboration of Cabuleros. In addition to a long list of references from international artists who inspired creation. CHALLENGE: The most difficult part of the project was the search for materials to model and paint, since in the country it is very difficult to find specific and necessary art materials for the creation of Cabulero Mini Monsters, along with the non-existent market for the reproduction of toys of any type So the only way to create a series of various pieces is by hand with some art and some construction materials such as resins. NAME: Iván López S. PROFILE: Cabulero was born from the need to fill a space in the local market for collecting action figures, toys or Art Toys that have become a trend worldwide. By creating diverse stories, Cabulero tries to generate empathy with the consumer, since it exploits personal and common emotional and subjective values in people, such as: luck, happiness and well-being, which function as a trigger for each of the stories that feed the construction of the characters that make up the "Cabulero universe", thus fulfilling a cycle of inspiration and creation and feedback. Showcasing an amalgam of talents, the artist combines passions such as: drawing, painting and sculpture, being himself an avid collector of Art Toys and action figures, he transfers and reflects his passion in his work. |
