DESIGN NAME: Waycludi
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Signage Hospital System
INSPIRATION: The inspiration for this project was hospital's patients needs of information. Every development's stage was analized
in terms of compatibility with principles of universal design to create project usefull for people with reduced functionality.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Wayfinding System for County Hospital in Pruszkow, Poland is designed in terms of compatibility with seven principles of universal design, wich allows to be useful project for everyone, especially for people with special needs and reduced functionality.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The hole system was designed to help people with reduced functionality to find the shortest way to the doctor's office in the hospital buliding. I wanted to maintain highest contrast and legibility of all information.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in Pruszkow, Mazovian District, Poland in January 2018 and finished in February 2019.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The main methodology used in this design was universal design principles.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The project consists of many different elements that are matched to specific places in the hospital, so it is not possible to define dimensions in general.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Before starting the project, surveys were conducted
to understand the needs of patients and hospital staff. Every development stage of design was analized in terms of compatibility with principles of universal design to make project usefull for users with reduced functionality. There were designed dedicated about 50 icons and special font Waykiss.
After the project was implemented, surveys were conducted among patients and hospital staff.
CHALLENGE: The most difficult part of the project was to take into account legal factors without giving up creating a good design.

NAME: Twins Studio Malgorzata Sobocinska-Kiss
PROFILE: Dr Malgorzata Sobocinska-Kiss is the lecturer of graphic design on Warsaw School of Information Technology. From 2015 she is
an organizer and curator of the UPGROWTH exhibition presenting the best diploma designes at this university. For many years, she has been creating illustrations for magazine covers for WoltersKluwer Polska, book covers and magazine's designes. She also designs trademarks, comprehensive corporate identity systems and signage systems.

I am awestruck by the creativity of Waycludi, Malgorzata Sobocinska-Kiss's Signage Hospital System. It is a perfect combination of imaginative design and practical purpose. It is a pleasure to see such a successful work like Waycludi winning the A' Design Award! Malgorzata Sobocinska-Kiss has outdone themselves with this project and the attention to detail is remarkable. The universal design principles implemented in this project make it extremely useful for people with special needs and reduced functionality, and the surveys conducted to understand the needs of patients and hospital staff are very impressive. The 50 dedicated icons and special font 'Waykiss' add a beautiful touch to the project, and it is clear that Malgorzata Sobocinska-Kiss has put much effort into the research and design of this project.
