DESIGN NAME: 3D Visualization of Victoria Calvatone
PRIMARY FUNCTION: 3D Visualisation
INSPIRATION: The ancient Roman Victoria Calvatone statue with wings attached by the Berlin restorers in the 19th is inspired me to create a 3D visualization of the statue inside the Roman interior composition. The statue was found broken into three pieces in 1836, in the village of Calvatone in the Northern Italian region of Lombardy. The sculpture was dated to the 2nd century AD and interpreted as the goddess Victoria. In the early 1840s, the statue was sold and German restorers recreated what they believed to be the missing elements and added wings.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: 3D renders and 3D animation of the CAD model aim to represent a real bronze statue of Victoria Calvatone in a showroom of The Hermitage Museum with a unique Roman atmosphere. It represents Victoria Calvatone's present to its Roman origin and the victory gained by the co-emperors Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus over barbarian tribes. 3D visualisation of Victoria Calvatone is the part of the research and restoration process.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The viewer notices the image on a screen and their interest is immediately captured by the true realistic image of the Victoria Calvatone Statue. The 3D visualisation consists of cad model with texture, together with numerous renders and video files
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The Hermitage Museum, August-September 2019
FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Computer Graphics, 3D Modeling, Texturing, and Rendering Design

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The statue was scanned first. Then 3D animation, modeling, simulation, and rendering software were used during the creation of this 3D visualization, renders, and videos. Geomagic Design, Zbrush were used for the sculpting and rendering process together with Photoshop for creating some parts of images of the interior and Filmora for a video edit.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 1920*1080 MPG and 2400*2400 pixel 600 pixels/inch. The statue is 170 cm high

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The Victoria Calvatone has been never created as a 3D model with visualization
CHALLENGE: Creating the texture and similar color of the real bronze statue followed by complex research for accuracy of the final images from historical perspective.
