DESIGN NAME: Mini Bike
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Electric Bicycle
INSPIRATION: We are inspired by insights. The insights are created by an userpanel consisting of 500 people asked in urban areas where the questions has been: What would you consider to be the best transportation in dense urban areas? Out the the answers we have come up with this vehicle.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The perfect last mile electric bicycle. It is small. It is light. It is handy. A very light construction to fit the consumers needs in the urban areas. The bike has 20" wheels as a part of the mini and compact concept. It is easy to fold and the battery is elegant hidden in the frame. The geometry is as on normal big size bicycle. The driving behaviour is smooth and very well organised by the geometry the bike offers. The bike is developed by collecting insights from 500 asked end consumers.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The design is developed based on insights collected from 500 end consumers
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: 12 month from first sketch to final vehicle 12 month from first sketch to final product. Made and developed in Croatia
FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Vehicle, Mobility and Transportation Design

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: A variation of materials are used to realise this vehicle. Alluminium, Carbon and steel
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 110 cm x 145 cm x 85 cm. Weight 11,5 kilo

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We have done research in aerodynamics, weight ratio to stiffness of the frames. This is a totally new method in the electric bicycles industry where those parameters mentioned has not been explored before now with our new Maserati bicycle product.Protanium/Asia Kingston has the licence rights to use the Maserati brand for electric bicycles.
CHALLENGE: The most critical challenge was to get the weight down to a record breaking level. The electric bicycle has a race bike dna and must therefor be light. But having the added weight of a battery and a motor was the most difficult challenge. The way we have solved the challenges is by using untraditional materials for an electric bike such as carbon and kevlar instead of metal and alloy
