DESIGN NAME: Atto Primo
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Motorcycle
INSPIRATION: Combining retro style with new and future technology the motorcycle maximizes the use of a new engine. A further feature is the use of aircraft aluminum for the frame, creating an ecological model projected with criterium and respect for the ambient.
One aspect of at least one project of the devices and systems described herein is the recognition that it would be desirable to have an engine with improved air flow or breathing capability in a compact design that reduces vibration.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The four-stroke engine comprises a first cylinder having a first piston and a second cylinder having a second piston, a first crankshaft operably connected to the first piston and a second crankshaft operably connected to the second piston, wherein the first crankshaft rotates in a first direction and the second crankshaft rotates in a second direction. The first direction is an opposite direction from the second direction.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The configuration of the engine reduces the rotational moment of from the crankshaft allows easier turning of the motorcycle and less vibration.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: More than 18 months. A hard work for study and envelope an archive about all the components and the new technologies for this manufactory industrial section. Started in Romania with the initial sketches. The components, final drawings and renderings in Italy.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: A continue research formed the basis of my project. The process had two parts with an individual research and extensive sketches ideation verified using CAD software. The concept is developed after a continue analysis following texts, articles and interviews with experts, personal experience. In this case, design should be abstract enough and futuristic as much as possible and at the same time to remind of products we use nowadays to provide a way of alternative future scenario.
CHALLENGE: Designing such motorcycle model is pure pleasure and joy. It took a large amount of research to develop convincing proof of the solution’s feasibility, as it is an unconventional arrangement which to my knowledge hadn’t been use in an automotive application before. The most difficult part of creating this concept design was keeping it limited to a homogeneous style and forms, but the goal is trough the integration of existing resources to the designer’s personal ideas and forms of induction and finishing trough the early careful investigation and analysis of automotive design theoretical knowledge of the system to sort out, to facilitate a public acceptance, easy to understand the theoretical structure to improve the automotive design.
