DESIGN NAME: Sense of Forest
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Perfumery Supermarket
INSPIRATION: The winter crowns of larch trees, forming a translucent arch of many intersecting branches, the columns of trunks lifting these crowns, were the inspiration for this project and became the main idea of the structure of the suspended ceiling.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The suspended ceiling consists of two gratings, covered with natural ash veneer, offset from each other by 6 degrees and hanging at different heights. Round columns in a wooden lath pierce the ceiling like tree trunks pierce the crown. The cash desk area made of natural granite extends with two broken lines into the depth of space. Onyx and granite countertops, five-meter slabs of African wood saturate the space with the sounding of natural textures.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The store is a place of attraction and communication for more than 2000 people daily. Presentations of new products in the field of perfumery and cosmetics, master classes of famous makeup artists are held here. Make-up artists and cosmetologists share their professional skills, train, put on makeup and just talk with customers.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The store is located in the business center of Moscow. The project was completed in 2018.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The signs of nature, which became the basis of this project, were intended to soften the urban intensity of the environment and make the store a place for a pleasant pastime and relaxation.
CHALLENGE: The aim of the project is to create an environment that immerses the viewer in a stream of plastic and visual impressions of the signs of nature. The industrial type of equipment made of hot-rolled steel of different sections is softened by the abundance of textures of natural wood, which defines an associative series of natural rather than industrial landscapes.
