DESIGN NAME: Geometric Residence
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House
INSPIRATION: In this project, the principal concept is geometry. Triangle, square and hexagon shapes were used in the house. Irregular cabinet converts the most important corner of the whole space.
Visual extension is also the core of this case. The curved glass is a partition between bedroom and walk-in closet, amplifying the effect of visualization.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: It is a 99 square meters mansion located in central Taipei. Geometric residence is the main design concept.
In the overall project, the bright and minimalist color palette, decorative planting, lightweight metal structure, and natural wood material selection all contribute to a cozy and stress-relieving home.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: One of the most challenge tasks is building irregular shape. A novel strategy employing carpenter working in geometry modeling for cabinet, combining with several colors in planar geometry makes whole image totally different. To enhance the visual effect, designer further utilized the paints of metal square tube as line of structure in interior space.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in August 2018 and finished in MAY 2019.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Main materials used in the project are oak, rose gold iron, paint, quartz tiles.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 99 Square meters with 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The fundamental elements of the space are composed of points, lines, and planes. The classic method in this project is to dismantle and to construct. For instance, the style of shoe cabinet which is at right side of the entrance was made by the polygon with concave planes. Furthermore, the objects in space were decomposed to 2-D graphs then to separate as line components to produce the opened showcase style.
CHALLENGE: Special geometric shape design in carpenter work.
