DESIGN NAME: Toro
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Medium Size Coach
INSPIRATION: Common usage of carry over parts and know-how from Anadolu Isuzus existing two coaches Novo and Turquoise, and combining them to have a low-cost and low-consumption vehicle with the new generation progressive design language was the main inspiration for the project. Technological gadget usage, its effect on aesthetical perception catalyzed design of dynamic daytime running lamps, signal lamps and taillights. That helped distinguishing vehicle in the dark and contributed to the brand identity.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Toro is a 8.5 m medium size coach which is an ideal partner for short and medium-haul journeys of service, touristic and airport transportations. It carries the new Anadolu Isuzu design language to a whole new level. From its entrance to its luggage room Toro has the widest and most spacious layout and luggage capacity for both the driver and passengers amongst its competitors. Fuel consumption is the main cost factor per seat and Toro offers the lowest fuel consumption within the same length.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Toro is designed to be operated as a journey companion for service, touristic and airport transportations. Lowered bumper and connected luggage room makes the luggage loading and unloading process far more comfortable and accessible with three side lids. Toro has the disabled lift option for the middle door according to preference. Rear seats can also be used as a bed for longer journeys.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in November 2018 and going to be finished in July 2020 in Kocaeli, Turkey.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The outer shell of Toro is made out of fiber reinforced polymer, sheet metal, perforated sheet metal, tempered glass according to its locational needs. Inside this shell there are the carriers; chassis and main structure which are aluminium and steel. In the interior; Abs, Pu, Pvc, formica, aluminium, fabric, vinyl and various composites are used.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width: 2330 mm, Length: 8514 mm, Height: 3347 mm, Wheelbase: 4475 mm, Front overhang: 1669 mm, Rear overhang: 2370 mm, Gross weight: 11.480 kg. Toro is equipped with Z F manual transmission and 4 cylinders Cummins Common Rail Turbo Diesel Intercooler engine which produces 210 hp at 2300 rpm. Capacity: 35, 37 Luggage capacity: 5 m3

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Domestic and foreign markets are examined. Customer feedbacks on the existing products, especially on Novo and Turquoise, are assessed. Benchmark and field researches are made as well as other transportation sectors, upcoming form and C M F trends.
CHALLENGE: Most challenging parts of the project were to achieve largest luggage capacity, lowest fuel consumption amongst its competitors along with using the maximum carry over parts from Anadolu Isuzu models Novo and Turquoise.
