| DESIGN NAME: Obscuro GT PRIMARY FUNCTION: Future of GT Retrovision INSPIRATION: Main inspiration was a classic gt coupe that has soul and strong aesthetics features, such as: Maserati A6GCS/53, Ferrari 250 gt, Jaguar E-type, Toyota 2000 GT, Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato. Secondary was modern GT coupe that will be classic for future, such as: AMG GT-R, Ferrari Roma, Aston Martin superleggera, Bentley GT, BMW M850i. Third is vision of future, currently we see it in creation of car with much dramatic shapes and volumes rather than line usage. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Obscuro is vision of how cars with naturally aspirated engines would look like. Due to rising popularity of electric cars and will of making fully self driving car it is supposed to have a significant change in automotive culture. For sure will be some examples of car identity recreation in . But these cars will be not so affordable and will have more classic as for future design, in our life time same thing exist: expensive chronometers, which are still appreciated in the digital era. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The interaction takes place in a classic way, no exotic operational doors or hinges are included in the design PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Project oriented on 2023-2029 production year, 2030 premier, 2033-2040 consumption years FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Vehicle, Mobility and Transportation Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: car supposed to have 60% of 3D printed parts. Main materials are: aluminum, forged carbon fiber, fiberglass, titanium, magnesium, bio-chemicals for batteries, leather, alcantara, glass. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 4.3m - length 1.2m - heigh 1.7m - width TAGS: car, gt, strenson, obscuro, sportcar, luxury RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Center of the project car itself. That is why Obscuro was based more on classic examples rather then on a modern one. This base of philosophy was used to save main idea of GT cars itself. CHALLENGE: The center of the project is the car itself. That's why Obscuro relied more on classic examples than modern ones. This philosophy was used to preserve the core idea of GT cars, namely the combination of luxury and high performance. Chrome elliments are sent to early motorsports, and the forms of these elements are referred to the silhouettes of those sports cars. The side lights are made small, since in the future cities will be much larger in area and much more illuminated. Therefore, the lights are transformed into exclusively silhouette forms, respectively, a neckline that encircles the front lights refers to cars of the past era, with bigger optics. Forming will rely more on strong and contrasting volumes than on lines, that have been popular for the last decade, but they are still present in the design to give a classic look from the future point of view. In addition, due to the number of electric vehicles, gasoline-powered cars will be rare, so to emphasize its heritage, the Obscuro front compartment has very elongated proportions, and in the rear view there are 3 large open pipes trimmed with chrome trim to emphasize again that this is not an electric car.
