FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
XR: The interior style is modern, while the subtleties all represents the elegance of Northern Europe. Soft lines, bright light, unique materials, and beautiful green plants, and they all form a unique and youthful fashion atmosphere.
FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
XR: Yucoo restaurant aims to attract young people, as the space design effect strives for young fashion.
FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
XR: I hope more and more people will know about this work.
FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
XR: 1 month.
FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
XR: I decide to pursuit an inspiration.
FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
XR: I intent to produce this work myself.
FS: What made you design this particular type of work?
XR: Interest in Chinese culture.
FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
XR: No.
FS: Who is the target customer for his design?
XR: Citizens who love food.
FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
XR: Using light blue, grey and brass materials to form the main color of the space, thus the designer creates a youthful and stylish atmosphere.
FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
XR: This is the customer's restaurant brand.
FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
XR: 3dmax、Photoshop、Auto CAD...
FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
XR: Using light blue, grey and brass materials to form the main color of the space, thus the designer creates a youthful and stylish atmosphere. The wine rack in the entrance position is designed with brass and solid wood, and the chandelier in the middle of the dining area is made by hand-woven rattan, that also reveals a retro fashion. The space decoration uses stylish round elements in many places, including chandeliers, wall lamps, cold dishes and the frames of doors. The addition of multiple green plants adds a little bit of natural comfort and casualness to the space.
FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
XR: With my colleagues.
FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
XR: To implement the designer's ideas.
FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
XR: I did a lot of research on the restaurant market.
FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
XR: How to give new features and details, as the space design effect strives for young fashion.
FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
XR: My interest in A' Design award.
FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
XR: Careful study of consumers is important for design.
