Interview with Alessandro De Marco at Wednesday 3rd of April 2019 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? AD: I wanted to take all the category of the event, make them iconic and create a big surrealistic picture of it. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? AD: My focus was on show something cool that not explain completely the event but involve your curiosity to joining in. Also I waned to achieve a good visibility in the city. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? AD: About three weeks FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? AD: This Design was committed by an event agency. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? AD: People between 18-40 (mostly) that live in Rome. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? AD: I always try to make unique concepts. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? AD: Gasometro is the name of the event and inspired from the structure in the location. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? AD: Vector and photoediting programs. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? AD: With Andrea Minnucci FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? AD: No influence by data analytics. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? AD: Color palette. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? AD: It was a suggestion sponsored by the adesignaward team. FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? AD: Every work is part of continuous growth.
