Interview with Arun Tillak at Monday 8th of April 2019 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? AT: "bathrooms of future has no walls". We wanted to explore this idea and make our user to experience the same. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? AT: We wanted to create space where user experiential space. Where a user can feel & appreciate the products displayed in the interior. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? AT: It has been open for public. We have been receiving inputs we are planning to add few digital interactions to space making it more user engaging. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? AT: we did spent quite a time say it around 3 months FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? AT: Decided to pursuit an inspiration "bathrooms of future has no walls" FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? AT: No FS: What made you design this particular type of work? AT: Changing trends in the culture & lifestyle. FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? AT: Gessi, Milano FS: Who is the target customer for his design? AT: Independent customers FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? AT: The spatial planning FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? AT: It’s named Fold 2.0 because of the site geometry & also it was the second project to the brand. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? AT: CAD & 3D modelling FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? AT: Spatial planning FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? AT: Yes! We colloborated with Graphics designers, Interactive designers FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? AT: Planning, Development & Execution FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? AT: No FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? AT: Time & cost was the ultimate change FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? AT: FOAID,India suggested & introduces us to A design Awards FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
