Interview with Delphine Goyon & Catherine Alamy at Saturday 31st of October 2020 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? DG: I wanted through this design to evoke the strength, rigor and tone of the product. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? DG: The main objective was to work on a design that was both minimal and clean, inspired by nature and with a strong and rigorous typography. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? DG: I wish long life to this project FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? DG: I worked on this design in collaboration with the team of the Arome agency and with the client. It took us several weeks to arrive at the successful realization. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? DG: Our client, of Australian origin, came with a minimal benchmark of what she wanted. We completed this inspiration board with our team. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? DG: This design was produced by our client and it is on sale on his website www.kailani-magnesium.com as well as at various resellers: gyms, fitness centers ... FS: What made you design this particular type of work? DG: I really like working on packaging which is my favorite discipline. The typography also pleases me a lot, here is the result. FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? DG: I take a lot of inspiration from Pinterest, Behance and Instagram to find my inspiration. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? DG: The target is for people concerned about their health, athletes, the elderly and people lacking in magnesium. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? DG: This design is distinguished by its minimal design associated with a clean and luxurious packaging. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? DG: The name was found by our client. This is a first name of Australian origin FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? DG: I first worked my design by hand, with sketches. Then I made it with Adobe Illustrator. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? DG: What is really unique is the way the typography is worked associated with the marine symbol, where the product comes from. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? DG: The entire Arome agency team was involved in this project. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? DG: The strength of the vector that can be produced with Adobe lllustrator reinforces the strength of the visual. FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? DG: I established a benchmark based on the origin of the product, the Zechenstein sea, then I looked at the packaging in the same universe as my client. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? DG: It was difficult to make packaging with strength without being too masculine. The target is mixed, so the packaging had to adapt to everyone. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? DG: I have enjoyed A Design Award very much for several years. A relationship of trust has been established between us and a guarantee of quality represents A Design Award. FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? DG: This design allowed me to make further progress in packaging and to work in a different world than the food packaging that I usually work. FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions? DG: Thank you A Design Award for you great work !
