Interview with Oksana Belova at Thursday 23rd of May 2019

FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
OB: Long time I work with interior design. Not only the design, but also functionality is important for pieces of furniture. The idea consists in making a good and functional subject, without excess details.

FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
OB: . Connection of design and multifunctionality became the basic principle of development of my piece of furniture.

FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
OB: Plans for the future – production of this subject, detailed development of a series.

FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
OB: This project is unique the fact that on its development about 30 days left. From emergence of the idea before visualization. The project very promptly developed.

FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
OB: I plan to make this model in the nearest future.

FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
OB: I consider options.

FS: What made you design this particular type of work?
OB: Modern world, need for minimalism and functionality.

FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
OB: Bauhaus. Dieter Rams

FS: Who is the target customer for his design?
OB: People who love comfort and are ready for experiments.

FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
OB: Multifunctionality

FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
OB: At first the first letters of a name etc, then everything mixed up)

FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
OB: Sketchbook, pencil, Liener, computer.

FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
OB: singularity

FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
OB: High role, one of main

FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
OB: Long-term experience with interiors

FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
OB: Desire to present the design at the international competition was available long ago, but there was not enough understanding and courage. Everything is good in its season.

FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
OB: Possibly everything, main to wish.
