Interview with Yubiao Xu at Thursday 27th of September 2018 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? YX: The advent of the new era of shared economy has brought about changes in the city. In the past, typical office buildings were rented to different companies on each floor. There was no communication between the people entering and leaving the building. How to effectively create a platform that is conducive to resource interoperability and integrate with local culture to generate new urban vitality. Design important challenges. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? YX: Providing office comfort as the primary goal, and constantly seeking the ultimate "simple" living environment, the relationship between people can be sublimated, the pressure and motivation of work can be optimized and improved at a higher level. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? YX: Do more good design projects FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? YX: bout 2 months FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? YX: Create a dynamic ecological sharing space - creating space. The entire office space adheres to the principle of openness and interactivity FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? YX: Works designed by me and my team FS: What made you design this particular type of work? YX: Coworking space is popular in China. It is an office model for sharing space to reduce rental costs. Individuals from different companies work together in a joint office space to share information, knowledge, skills and ideas. Start your own business with limited resources FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? YX: NO FS: Who is the target customer for his design? YX: Entrepreneur FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? YX: The rhythm of space is brought to the theme of dynamic light and shadow. In the conception, the method of "continuously turning and folding" is used to blend the straight line and the curve in the space. Between the movement and the static, the rhythm of its own breathing is created, and both advance and retreat are suitable. The yellow accents of the jump bring different vitality to the entire office space. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? YX: CAD, 3Dmax, Photoshop, hand drawn FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? YX: Make this innovative office field inherit the cultural atmosphere of this place, and integrate the natural ecology to create a comfortable atmosphere. People can change the discussion space according to different moods and numbers. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? YX: Create a dynamic ecological sharing space - creating space. FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
