Home > Winners > Design #68915 >Interview
Editor Frank Scott (FS) from DesignPRWire has interviewed designer KUAN YEN WU (KW) for A' Design Awards and Competition. You can access the full profile of KUAN YEN WU by clicking here. Access more information about the award winning design Romance and Decadence here.

Interview with KUAN YEN WU at Sunday 21st of April 2019

FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
KW: The street is crowded with heavy traffic, this space stands right in the bustle of the city. The complicated thoughts stir up one’s desire to escape, and this bistro will digest these emotions.

FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
KW: In this space, we try to put in two elements of "romance and decadence" Challenge the matching of different materials to create a healing atmosphere.

FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
KW: The design is inspired by the base environment. The mutual communication is used to combine our design ideas with the client's purpose.

FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
KW: This design is used by the other company.

FS: Who is the target customer for his design?
KW: The people who dine in this restaurant.

FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
KW: Different concepts can be generated in response to different base environments.

FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
KW: I hope to convey our design ideas to more people through this competition.

FS: Thank you for providing us with this opportunity to interview you.
