Interview with Serap Safiye Yıldız at Wednesday 2nd of May 2018 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? SY: Tarihçenin bilinen en eski sanat danteli M.Ö. 2500 yıllarına dayanır. Mısır firavunları kullandı. 12. ve 13. yüzyıllarda statü belirledi. pahalı ve lüks.Dantel her kadında farklı yanılsamalar yaratır. Dantel büyü, çağdaş modern kadının antika çağları ile bağlanıyor.Lace büyü, iki parçalı bayan giyim. Iç çamaşırı, el işi dantel işi. Tasarımcı dokuma ve birleştirme tekniklerini kullandı. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? SY: Yeni bir stil oluşturmayı denedim. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? SY: İdea, inspiration, research and production process have taken nearly six months. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? SY: Formed with inspiration. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? SY: I may think of selling or producing it. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? SY: I combined my technique with inspiration from my heart. FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? SY: Traditional Turkish Lace Art and Elie Saab, Zuhair Murad, designers who impress me. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? SY: Personal designers, companies, artists, young girls. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? SY: A new style was tried in this design. I used nanotec cloth. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? SY: İ observed the universe and time. Time cycle. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? SY: Sewing machine, overlok machine, hand-made crochet, scissors, drawing paper, pens, sewn rubber, sewing rope, knitting rope, metal and glass beads were used. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? SY: Uniting the traditional handicrafts and smart fabric, and design of a new type of skirt make the difference. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? SY: A company producing nanotechnology fabric Pisa Tekstil. Merkez M. Değirmenbahçe C. SY: Anti-aging anti-oxidant effective FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? SY: I talked to the Turkish Statistical Institute, websites, social media, textile companies, stores, people I design. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? SY: The only difficulty I experienced in the design application was the technique of combining shorts and skirts. The smart fabric, which provides the integrity of the concept of time cycle, became an important part. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? SY: It is a great honor for me to take part in the world's most prestigious design FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? SY: I developed a hand-held technique, tried a new skirt pattern.
