Interview with Oksana Kashkovskaya at Saturday 20th of October 2018 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? OK: When i thought about the creation of this design the main idea was to creat someting unusual something interesting that can be not standard for liqueur design. The milk component that exist at the ingredients of this liqueur helped me to see what the design can be for this liqueur. The main idea was to use two different color spaces on the product and use the interaction of simple well-know graphic elements as the cow spots that commonly exist on the milk product, nevertheless this element exist on this liqueur product as well, this do the design of product "Black milk" interesting and not standard . FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? OK: First of all i wanted to achieve at this design the harmony between shapes and colors. The bottle has the smooth shape that also exists at the soft lines of the graphic elements on the cardboard pack.I wished to show how two opposite colors as black and white can interact with each to supplement each other. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? OK: I wish to advance this award design for consumers at the world and i hope that very soon this liqueur will be possible to see at the many stores of the world-wide. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? OK: This design did not take a lot of time for me from first sketch to the 3D render preview. It was a good adventure for me to the design world to search the new design concept and select the texture of materials. The first shape of the bottle was a little different but during short time was taken the decision to improve the form and make it the more organic shape. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? OK: For this particular concept certainly i trusted more my inspiration and experiense at the world of beautiful design.I wanted to create the product design that will be interesting not only to use it directly but also researching the design from consumer point of view, because was used the two concept of the colors on the opposite sides of the bottle and the pack as black and white, and each consumer when will see it at the first time will think "what the color i prefer to choose now" but of course this is one packaging. It as a small play for each person who will be decide for itself which preferable color to choose before the acquire. This design aspect do this product unusual. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? OK: In my futher plans to have colaboration with large and well - known company that will produce my design product but also i don't refuse from idea to produce this package design myself. OK: I very like to research others designs before than i completely finish my design work because this give understanding that your design will be exceptional and will not be to have the similar concept idea. I like a lot of other designers works and always very delight the good and interesting idea and try to take a note the author of amazing design to watch for his successful works at further. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? OK: This is the alcohol product, thus the target customers is more than 18 year old, nevertheless the packaging has the unusual design concept that can be interesting for all age category as for simple customers also and young designers. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? OK: The package liqueur "Black milk" has the unusual concept at difference from other designs that have the interaction with different colors as well.At the other designes exist the similar idea to show the cow spots on the bottle, nevertheless very often can meet this graphic elements on the milk products than at the liqueurs. Also exist a lot of different cardboard packs of liqueurs or wines with a hole for the bottle view, but at the package design "Black milk" was collected the all interesting design concept together, thus this do this packaging more interesting from other because from first sight it looks as a milk product but not be this. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? OK: The name for my package design was born accidentally.
