Interview with Kai Wei, Lin at Thursday 12th of April 2018 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? KL: I always have a dream to achieve which is every city should redefine at least one smiley building to bring along joy and happiness to citizen. Everyone listens to music, while piano is well known to everyone which it could be either solo or accompanied. So I decided to use piano as my first design concept of this project. Yet I would like to connect the city with forest, to maintain the greens and provide a good environment to interact with the citizen even in the main area of the city. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? KL: I would like to connect the city with forest, to maintain the greens and provide a good environment to interact with the citizen even in the main area of the city. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? KL: About one month to create all the concept ideas and combined them into one. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? KL: This project is all done by myself. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? KL: Everyone. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? KL: Piano With Forest. A piano which found in forest. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? KL: Total of 3 stories, 1752 meter square. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? KL: “Foresty” defined design as a new plantation that grown by full of our heart. In this project, we’d accept the challenge of interacting the music with spaces. As time goes by, PWF is finally finished in march 2017.
