Interview with Ludovica Misso at Monday 11th of May 2020

FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
LM: I'm inspired by women's contradictions. A woman can be many things, can cover different roles remaining herself. She can be elegant, classy, feminine, sweet, weak also sometimes. But on the other hands the same woman can be powerful, strong, dedicate to her work, ambitious and a work harder. What I mean is that a woman knows how to be a woman but she also know how to be a man. She can be both. This is why I am passionate about mixing womenswear and menswear. I don't use the menswear world to try to dress my women as a man. I take whats reminds me of the powerful of this men's world and use them to make beautiful, ironical and super feminine dresses.

FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
LM: I wanted to design beautiful and versatile dresses. Forgetting about sizes and restrictions. All women can wear my dresses and depending on how they style them and what they choose to put underneath, they can use them for really any occasion, from the beach to a special evening event. I want my customers to feel comfortable but classy and beautiful in my dresses.

FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
LM: Is a way to get more international visibility of my collection.

FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
LM: 3 months more or less

FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
LM: Hi decides to follow my inspirations creating an original, different and brand new collection which encountered a particular appreciation.

FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
LM: My designer it's been producing in a local factory in Rome. I'd like to find showrooms and shops who would like to sell them

FS: What made you design this particular type of work?
LM: I achieved this inspiration after 3 years of Ied plus two years in London where I did two internship for two different Designer. Furthermore after a series of cultural trips to get inspirations (Spain, Usa, Mexico, Greece, Uk)

FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
LM: I always take inspiration from past and contemporary designer and trends but I try to maintain my personal style and inspiration.

FS: Who is the target customer for his design?
LM: Women's from 25 to 60 years old, who love traveling, ideally they love beaches, party on the beach. They love going on vacations on boats or yachts. Business women who might need to have a dress that can be worn in any occasion even during the same day depending on how they stile it.

FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
LM: I designed every fabric, is all made in Italy and is absolutely high quality. I do small production so these means it is like a limited edition and this make the collection unique and not too easy to find. For this kind of product quality and beauty the price are really affordable.
